Tragedy in Gaza: School Shelter Bombed, Dozens Killed

An Israeli military attack on a school shelter in Gaza City has left at least 36 Palestinians dead, including children.
The attack happened at night, catching people as they slept. This has added to the rising number of civilian deaths as the conflict intensifies.

Midnight Attack on Al-Jarjawi School The Al-Jarjawi school

was being used as a shelter for people who had to leave their homes because of the war. At midnight, the school was hit by Israeli forces. The attack caused a fire and widespread damage.
A reporter from Al Jazeera was at the scene and described the horror. He saw bed covers and mattresses covered in blood. The air smelled of blood.
He spoke with a man who lost his three-year-old daughter in the attack.
She was in his arms when the bombing happened. The man said they are defenseless civilians and have nothing to do with fighting.
People woke up to screams and panic

A big explosion shook the school. Many people died, and many more were hurt.

Overcrowded Shelter Targeted

The Al-Jarjawi school was packed with hundreds of displaced Palestinians.
They had set up tents in the school's courtyard. The bombing damaged these tents as well. The situation is now described as chaotic and devastating.
Israeli Claims
The Israeli military claims the school was a "command and control center" for Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. However, they have not provided any proof to back up this claim.
This is a common reason given by the Israeli military for bombing shelters since the war started in 2023.
 Rising Civilian Casualties
This attack is just one of many that have led to a growing number of civilian deaths in Gaza. In a separate attack, six members of one family were killed at a nearby tent camp.
The United Nations and other international groups have expressed deep concern about the safety of civilians in Gaza.
They have called for all parties to protect civilians and follow international law.
 The Dire Situation in Gaza
Overcrowded Shelters:
Many schools and other buildings are being used as shelters. These shelters are often overcrowded and lack basic supplies like food, water, and medicine.
Limited Medical Care: Hospitals in Gaza are struggling to treat the wounded because of shortages of supplies and staff.  Displacement:
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes because of the fighting.
A Call for Protection
The attack on the Al-Jarjawi school is a tragic reminder of the human cost of conflict. Civilians, especially children, are paying the highest price.
It is important for the international community to take action to protect civilians and end the violence.
