Iran Attacks Israel After US Bombs Nuclear Sites
Tensions in the Middle East have risen. This happened after Iran launched missile attacks on Israel. The attacks came just hours after the United States bombed Iranian nuclear sites.
Missile Strikes in Israel
Explosions rang out in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Sunday. The Israeli military said that Iranian missiles were coming. Air defenses were activated. Sirens sounded in Israeli cities. Rescue services reported that at least 20 people were hurt.
Iran said it targeted:
- Ben Gurion Airport: Israel's main airport.
- Biological Research Center: A place where biological studies are done.
- Alternative Command and Control Centers: Backup centers for running military operations.
Iran claims to have used guided missiles. These missiles could be directed until they hit. They also carried strong explosives.
Israelis Seek Shelter
As sirens went off, many Israelis went to underground shelters. People in Tel Aviv, and other cities, sought safety below ground.
People across the Middle East are worried.
They wonder if the US strikes will end the conflict or make it worse. Some fear a larger war in the region.
