Indian Air Force Jaguar Jet Crashes in Rajasthan:

On July 9, 2025, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar fighter jet crashed in Rajasthan, India. This is the third Jaguar crash this year in India.

Crash Details

The Jaguar fighter jet crashed in Bhanuda village, which is in the Churu district of Rajasthan. People nearby heard a loud explosion. They then saw flames and smoke coming from the fields. The crash caused panic in the area.

Local villagers tried to put out the fire, but the wreckage was scattered. Government officials and rescue teams quickly arrived at the site.

Sadly, two people died in the crash. Officials think the victims were the pilot and co-pilot of the fighter jet. Their bodies were found near the wreckage. Authorities are working to identify them.

After the crash, the Indian Air Force sent helicopters to help with rescue and recovery. The area has been blocked off to keep people away from the crash site. Army and police teams are also there. They are working to find out what caused the accident.

The Jaguar fighter jet took off from Suratgarh Airbase.

This airbase is near the border with Pakistan. The Jaguar is an important combat plane for the Indian Air Force. It is used for ground attacks and collecting information.

The Jaguar can fly fast at low altitudes.

This makes it good for precise strikes. The Air Force calls it a "Deep Penetration Strike Aircraft." This means it can fly deep into enemy territory to attack.

The Indian Air Force started using the British-French Jaguar in 1978. For a long time, it was used to gather information about enemy areas.

This is not the first time a Jaguar fighter jet has crashed in India. There have been other crashes in recent years:

  • March 7, 2025: A Jaguar crashed in Panchkula, Haryana. The pilot survived.
  • April 2, 2025: Another Jaguar crashed in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The pilot died, but others on board were injured.
  • July 9, 2025: The most recent crash in Churu, Rajasthan, resulted in two deaths.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown. An investigation will be conducted to find out what happened. Officials will look at the plane's systems, maintenance records, and other factors. The investigation should provide more information about why the Jaguar crashed.
