The earthquake caused damage to homes and buildings in Russia. Things fell off shelves in stores. A seafood plant was flooded by tsunami waves.
The earthquake created tsunami waves. In Kamchatka, the waves reached as high as 4 meters (13 feet). People were told to stay away from the coast.
