Trump Announces Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran
Tensions in the Middle East have been high. President Trump has announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. This announcement comes after a series of attacks and retaliations between the two countries, and after Iranian missile strikes on a military base in Qatar that houses U.S. troops.
Trump's Announcement
President Trump stated that Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire. He said it would begin soon and be complete within 24 hours. This would end what he called a "12-day war."
As of the time of the announcement, there has been no confirmation from either Israel or Iran.
Recent Attacks
The announcement followed Iran's missile attack on a U.S. base in Qatar. This was in response to U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Iran launched short and medium-range missiles at the Al Uded Air Base, which houses about 10,000 U.S. personnel. Luckily, there were no injuries.
