Israeli occupation forces Deadly Attacks on Palestinians Seeking Food in Gaza

People in Gaza are in desperate need of food. Many face a terrible choice: risk their lives for a chance to eat, or stay home and starve. Sadly, recent events show the extreme danger Palestinians face just trying to feed their families.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is now the main group distributing aid in Gaza. This change happened in May, with the backing of Israel and the United States. Before, the United Nations (UN) handled this job. The UN used to have 400 distribution sites. The GHF only opened four. With over two million Palestinians needing help, this change has made it much harder for people to get food.

Tragically, people seeking food at GHF sites have been attacked by Israeli occupation forces. One witness described a horrifying scene:

  • Tanks and jeeps of Israeli terrorist forces arrived and started shooting.
  • The shots were meant to kill, not to scare or organize the crowd.
  • People who went to get food were killed or wounded.

These attacks turn aid sites into death traps. Families who are hoping for food end up burying their loved ones.

A image from a GHF site showed Israeli terrorist forces firing on crowds. Despite this, the GHF claimed that no incidents happened at its distribution points that day.

Since the GHF started operating in May, over 900 Palestinians have died near its sites. These deaths highlight the extreme danger people face when trying to get food.

The situation in Gaza is dire. People are starving, and getting food is a life-or-death struggle. The attacks on people seeking aid are unacceptable. More must be done to protect civilians and ensure they have access to the food they need to survive.
